“Todays’s Barber” is a book written by MYM Barbershop. This book describes specific traits all barbers need to succeed. Our barbers daily goal is to apply the foundational topics within the book to facilitate positive outcomes.

"After moving to Philadelphia, PA, I found the MYM location on Main Street in Manayunk. Previous barber apprentices at MYM shared their experiences with me and in October 2020 the pursuit to obtain my barber’s license began. This apprenticeship has allowed me to build relationships with clients and through my practice they learned to trust in my ability as I perfected my skills and craft. Barbering is a fulfilling career where each day is different and you have the opportunity to connect with real people. "Mark was my barber. He (half seriously) asked me one day if I wanted to be a barber. We both had a laugh and by the end of my haircut I was asking him what that would look like. Fast forward several months and I had a chair as an apprentice next to him. I trusted Mark as my barber and knew I wanted to learn from him. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I spent three years at MYM and it truly was three of the best years of my life, let alone my career. I worked with some of the best barbers in the country and learned everything I could from them. My favorite moments there were just the everyday conversations - from talking sports to everyday life, to hanging out with our clients. It truly was a great environment - one that I hope to replicate with my Florida shop."
